Internship in Web Design and Development

About MoveOn.org

MoveOn.org brings real Americans back into the political process. With over 3.3 million members across America—from carpenters to stay-at-home moms to business leaders—we work together to realize the progressive promise of our country. MoveOn is a service—a way for busy but concerned citizens to find their political voice in a system dominated by big money and big media. MoveOn.org Political Action, a federal PAC, mobilizes people across the country to fight important battles in Congress and help elect candidates who reflect their values. Both organizations are entirely funded by individuals.

Internship:

MoveOn.org is offering a paid front-end design and development internship to help them to develop their new media project created to making and shipping their new interface for their rapidly growing website.

Requirements:

  • Quick and inventive with hand-coded HTML, CSS for both style and positioning.
  • WordPress theming
  • Good intuition for how real people interact with websites.
  • Sharp design eye - know how to make things that not only work, but also feel inviting.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and hit deadlines.
  • Self-manager and self-starter.
  • A sense of humor.

Benefits:

A Stipend of $1,000 to 1,500 a month will be paid, based on experience, plus health benefits. Start Date: As soon as possible, no later than August 15, 2011.

End Date: This is a three month internship, but may be extended indefinitely if it works out.

Location:

MoveOn.org offers a virtual office and all interns are required to work online.
