Each year the WRP visits college campuses across the country conducting one on one interviews with students. Students must be U.S. citizens and enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning either full time (part-time in some circumstances), or have recently graduated from college within the past year.
The WRP has successfully assisted in placing students/recent graduates with disabilities in summer placements and full-time jobs over the past several years. After visiting campuses, the WRP posts the database of student information on its website for employers to see.
The WRP believes that students with disabilities are of great value and offer much potential for employers seeking qualified applicants. Due to a variety of factors, this population is often overlooked for internships or jobs due to a lack of important resources, professional contacts, or a belief in their knowledge and skills as they relate to the workforce.
Students should check with their Career Services Office at their college to see if a WRP representative plans on visiting campus or provide their college with the information listed below, since WRP representatives can only work through designated college offices:
