By , About.com Guide

About The Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation:

In 1980 by Charles G. Koch created The Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization, to “advance social progress and well-being through the development, application, and dissemination of the Science of Liberty™.” The Foundation works to support research and educational programs that analyze the impact on how free societies advance the well-being of mankind. It's mission and premise is based on the fact that throughout history it has been shown that greater economic freedom within a society leads to increased prosperity and an enhanced quality of life.

About the Internship:

The Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation Internship Program provides a great start for young professionals interested in becoming advocates for individual liberty, free markets, and economic freedom.

Benefits:

The Charles G. Koch Foundation Internship Program offers paid internships for students and new graduates each spring, summer, and fall. Students get an opportunity to live and work in Washington DC for three months over the course of their internship. The program is designed to give upcoming new professionals some real, hands-on experience working in a free-market public policy organization.

Interns also get the opportunity to meet once a week for training and ongoing career development. They get a chance to hear guest speakers and attend practical workshops and participate in group projects. Through the internship and ongoing training, interns participating in the program will learn how to apply economic thinking that goes on within organizations and further build on the skills required to effectively advance liberty within our society. The Foundation is committed to helping interns find career options that meet their individual goals while offering a growing alumni network for interns to tap into both during and after they complete the program.
