The Boston Globe provides invaluable experience for students seeking to gain experience in the field of journalism. With over 50 years in existence, interning with The Boston Globe requires that students have at least one year of undergraduate study remaining. The Boston Globe seeks students who have previous experience and who have taken an interest in gaining additional experience such as working for their college’s newspaper.

Requirements for a Boston Globe Internship:

Students applying for internships with The Boston Globe must have a driver’s license and be able to type at least 30 words per minute. Boston Globe interns work full-time and are given the unique opportunity to communicate directly with editors while also being offered seminars on the First Amendment, libel law and other important issues as they relate to journalism.

Boston Globe interns become general assignment reporters while others, depending on interest, are given the opportunity to work in other areas such as sports, daily living and the arts, photography, and the graphics department. Copy editing internships are usually filled by The Dow Jones Newspaper Fund interns.
