Several of these sites are excellent choices for just about any type of internship while others focus more on specific career fields or areas of interest. When beginning my search for an internship, these would be the first places I would look. You will find opportunities on these sites for summer internships, fall internships, spring internships, paid internships, non profit internships, and internships abroad.
1. Internships.com
Offers general and regional internship guides, features, and articles and is offered free on many college websites. Internships.com focuses its efforts on assisting and educating students, employers, and educators on how to develop and find an abundance of national and international internship opportunities. Since its total focus is on internships, Internships.com provides an comprehensive and impressive number of opportunities often not found elsewhere.
2. The Internship Series on Line
The site provides full, up to date information on over 2,800 organizations offering internships and summer jobs for students. The Internship Series on Line provides internship information listed in all of the 14 publications issued by Internships-USA. Over 300 colleges across the nation subscribe to Internships-USA and The Internship Series on Line.3. Monster
Monster has been self-described as the "largest, oldest, and most popular job listing site for college students and alumni." Founded as JobTRAK in 1987 it was aquired in 2000 by Monster, the leading online global careers network.
4. Idealist.org
Idealist.org consists of over 57,000 nonprofit and community organizations in over 180 countries. Numerous opportunities exist for individuals looking to intern, volunteer, or work in positions that are involved in giving back and making a difference in the world. Idealist.org was a project developed through Action Without Borders, a non profit organization that began in 1995.
5. Experience.com
Experience.com offers numerous internship listings as well as a wealth of resources and advice. It’s timely articles provide an enormous amount of information written by and for students who share their personal experiences.
6. GoAbroad.com
GoAbroad.com is the umbrella organization that includes StudyAbroad.com, InternAbroad.com, VolunteerAbroad.com, etc. Thousands of international opportunities can be found for those seeking an experience abroad. GoAbroad.com was designed to link potential travelers with international organizations.
7. Indeed.com
Indeed.com includes all the job listings from major job boards, newspapers, associations and company career pages. Indeed makes it possible to save searches and have internships/jobs delivered via email alerts through RSS feeds. Indeed.com provides the ability to search for internships and jobs by providing free access to millions of employment opportunities from thousands of websites.
8. Simply Hired
Simply Hired is an easy to use site that aggregates job listings including direct employer websites, staffing and placement firms, job boards, etc. Additional tools and filters help focus searches and make individual preferences like pet and eco friendly companies, findable.
