Finding the right internship can take some time and personal evaluation. First off, it's important to evaluate what type of experience you want to get and what type of environment you want to work in. Many students complete internships to further explore careers especially if they are still undecided about a career they may want to pursue. For those students who are not sure about what they want to do after college, exploring careers by job shadowing or doing an internship can be a very good decision.
Students also do internships to further their knowledge and skills in a particular field and perhaps to even get hired once the internship is over. Many companies use their internship programs as a training ground and as a way to select candidates to fill full-time positions once they open up.
