During 2012-13 more than 10,000 Teach for America corps members will teach 750,000 students, while nearly 28,000 alumni will continue to make an impact as educational leaders and advocates. These results can all be attributed to the great success of the program!
The mission of Teach for America is to eliminate educational inequality by developing teaching leaders. The way Teach for America proposes to accomplish this mission is by recruiting recent college graduates who have an excellent academic record to teach for two or more years in low-income communities.
Alumni of Teach for America, become leaders who personally and professionally support their peers and current members of the program. Students can learn more about the program and begin applying for the Summer Institute on the organization's website.
