The use of social media has become an integral part of any internship or job search in today's competitive job market.  Finding jobs and internships along with identifying key professionals who can assist you in your efforts, is becoming a very common practice amongst internship and job seekers.

Creating a professional image online is important for internship and job seekers since many more companies are using social media when checking out potential candidates for open positions available within their company.   By creating Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter sites along with a personal/professional blog, you will be maximizing your exposure online.

When using these forms of social media you will also want to be sure to periodically do a Google Search of your name to make sure there is not any incriminating information or photos being posted that you may not be aware of.
