Finding & Selecting a Good Mentor

To get the most value out of a mentoring relationship you will want to find ways that you can be of value and assistance to your mentor.  Establishing a relationship with someone who recognizes your value to the company will only make the relationship stronger and mutually beneficial.

Demonstrating self-confidence and a positive self-image will make upper management take notice.  Although you may be feeling unsure of yourself and a little fearful of new situations, those feelings do not have to show and can be masked by your professionalism.
Remember to dress the part for the position you aspire to and follow the old adage - fake it until you make it, and it will all work out in the end.
