INTERNSHIP OF THE WEEK
National Public Radio

Monday October 12, 2009

National Public Radio (NPR) offers a variety of internships in broadcasting and other entertainment and radio related jobs for college undergraduates, graduates, and recent graduates interested in working in the field. Internship opportunities with NPR are available for spring, summer, and fall semesters with locations in Washington DC and Culver City, CA.

According to Corey Deitz, About.com's Guide to Radio, the easiest way to break into the field is to get your foot in the door by offering to do an unpaid internship or to volunteer.  Following The Top 10 Work Values Employers Look For will also help you get noticed and maybe even help you obtain a potential job offer.

Getting started in entertainment can be difficult due to the competitive nature of the business but for those willing to start at the bottom, achieving success in the field is possible.
