If you are interested in working at The White House, internships for the Summer of 2009 have just been posted. Internship opportunities are available in numerous offices and departments. These internships provide an inside look at the workings of the federal government and an opportunity to work with various members of this administration.
In addition to college juniors and seniors, non-traditional aged students, graduate, and law students are also encouraged to apply. Those applying for an internship must be eighteen years of age on or before the first day of the internship, enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a community college, college, or university (2-4 year institution), or must have graduated within the past two years from an undergraduate or graduate school; OR a veteran of the US Armed Forces with a high school diploma or its equivalent who has actively served the country over the course of the last two years.
Summer internships run from May 22 - August 14 and the deadline to apply has been extended from February 26th to March 22.
In addition, the White House is reaching out to LGBT students as part of their hope to include more diversity in the workings of this administration by encouraging a wide range of students to apply.
