Job Shadowing During Winter Break

Job Shadowing offers an opportunity to observe and ask questions of professionals currently working in your field of interest. It is a great way of seeing what actually occurs on a daily basis when working in a particular field or industry. By participating in a Job Shadowing you may find that the job you thought would be exciting and fun turns out to be boring and lacks the luster you imagined. On the other hand, you may find that the experience excites you and gives you the information you needed to make an informed career decision.

Whatever the result, you will definitely know more about a career or industry once you've spent some time observing and getting your questions answered. A good way to do job shadowing is to check and see if your college offers a Job Shadowing Program. If not, consult with a career counselor at your college to see how you can access college alumni who may be interested in sponsoring a student for one or more days during college break.
