How Can You Help?

Thursday November 20, 2008
I’m seeking input from employers and students about internship opportunities available for next summer. If you are an employer who has an internship to offer, please post it on the Internship Forum. Likewise, if you are a student who recently completed an internship you’d like to share with other students, please let us know about it.

Today’s newspapers are full of bad news and each day we are finding more layoffs and store closings being announced. Even though it is a tough economy and jobs are definitely not as plentiful as they were several years ago, there are still many good internships to be found although it may take a little more effort and diligence to find them.

Strategies for Finding a Summer Internship:

  1. Reach out and network with people currently working in the field including friends, family, faculty, previous employers, and alumni at your college.
  2. Check out the internship search engines.
  3. Prospect with companies where you'd like to work and find out if they offer internships.
