You're Hired

Wednesday April 4, 2007
For some of the "Washington Internship Institute's students, "You’re Hired!" isn’t just a phrase they hear on “The Apprentice.” It’s the exceptionally positive outcome of an internship in Washington, DC.

Three students from the Fall Semester 2006 received job offers from their internship sites. And they’re not alone. Over the years a number of WII’s students (including the five mentioned below) have been hired as full-time employees after their internships.

Sometimes job offers catch interns by surprise. Mary Baugh completed a political science degree at Texas A&M University before participating in WII’s program and interning at the Embassy of Papua New Guinea. Shortly after learning that Mary planned to remain in DC after her internship, the ambassador offered her a position.
